This boy...

Oh I just love when it's time to photograph him <3

Sweetie pie Elijah is 9 months old and he is so stinking cute! I had so much fun with him today, and I think he had fun too. He is crawling, standing up, mimicking, and starting to talk. He is just growing like a little weed!

His mama Brett helped me out today by blowing bubbles and getting Elijah to smile. I always enjoy getting to spend time with her and chatting away the afternoon.

This boy steals the hearts of everyone he is around, and I am so happy that he has part of mine. I am so blessed to be surrounded by such sweet babies <3

*Warning* I am totally going to over-share, but I can't help it haha! Here's a few of my favorites from today...
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you have a sweet and happy day :)

Review: SenGence LipSense Lip Color & Gloss

Have you heard of the amazing lip color that lasts all day? Kiss proof. Smudge proof. Waterproof. It won't wear off or budge?

Well you guys this stuff is the real deal. It's called LipSense and it actually works!
I love lipstick. I love putting it on as the last step in my makeup process. It's the finishing touch. And that is about where it ends for me. I am always good about putting it in my bag so I can reapply later in the day, but I never do. I always forget about it. It sits in my purse, along with the other 3 or 4 from the rest of the week, until I clean out my bag and start over again.

Lipstick is a pain, but a pretty pain. Lipstick on your teeth is the worst and then there is the fading, rubbing off, re-applying, melting, smudging, cracking, the list goes on and on. So I was on the lookout for something new. I had tried a few well known lip stains, but I wasn't too impressed with how they preformed.

My cousin became a distributor for SenGence last fall. And me, being the skeptic that I am, waited a couple months before I actually purchased anything. I like to do my research, and that is an understatement haha!

She made a business page on Facebook and posted pictures and colors constantly. Every time a new picture would pop up I would Google search images of that color and see what it looked like on different color lips. I was looking for a nice nudey-pink color but I was concerned with how it would actually look on my lips.

My lips are very pigmented. They are naturally pretty red, so when I wear lip color, it never is the true color that is should be. And at $25 per lip color and $20 per gloss, I REALLY wanted to make sure the color was perfect before I bought it.

So I waited, and waited, and waited. And then my bestie told me she ordered a set (color & gloss) and that was it, I just HAD to get some too lol.

I got a hold of Stacia, my distributor, and asked her if I could come and sample some of her colors. The next afternoon I was sitting in her dining room with about 30 colors to sample. Since I knew I wanted a nudey-pink, I went for those colors immediately. I narrowed it down to 4 colors and ended up purchasing Bombshell lip color and Glossy gloss.
A couple days later I had them in hand and I went home and immediately and applied it.

I was so impressed with how long it lasted! It blew away my expectations and did all that it claimed. Lip color that you apply once and it stays on all day. A product that is waterproof and does not kiss off, smear off, rub off, or budge off!

What is LipSense?

LipSense is a pharmaceutical-grade cosmetic product with pure pigments and natural botanicals. It is the best blend of science and nature. LipSense is gluten-free, vegan, kosher, non-GMO, contains no lead and no animal by-products. SeneGence uses the highest quality ingredients and is made in the USA.

LipSense is NOT a stain; it doesn't penetrate the skin and go into the blood stream. LipSense is a patented molecular bond, meaning it sticks to your skin and that is why you have to have clean and dry lips (so that the pigment can "stick" to it with the patented technology).

There is a money back guarantee if you are not satisfied.

How to Apply
  • Prepare you lips. Cleanse and make sure you have clean and dry lips.
  • Shake Lipsense Color well (for at least 20 seconds).
  • Apply 3 THIN layers of Lipsense color to each lip.
  • Allow about 10 seconds for the product to dry after each layer.
  • Only go in one direction with one continual stroke of Lipsense per lip, not back and forth like traditional lipstick.
  • Keep your lips spread open & tight. The color will go into all the little lines in your lips much easier.
  • Don't touch lips together until Lipsense gloss is applied. Keep your lips parted.
  • Wait about 30 seconds after the 3rd layer.
  • Finish with a topcoat gloss to seal in the color and to hydrate the lips.
  • Clean up any mistakes with the Ooops! Remover.

LipSense Liquid Lip Color

The premier product for SeneGence®, LipSense is a patented, amazing departure from conventional lipsticks and lip colors. LipSense is versatile in that you can mix shades to create a number of effects.
Unique product is waterproof and does not kiss off, smear off, rub off, or budge off! It actually bonds to your lips. Does not dry out your lips – it works to restore the moisture content. Color lasts anywhere between 4 and 18 hours. *This statement came directly from the SenGence Website.
There are so many lip colors to choose from, 75+. They either have a matte, shimmer, or frost finish. The combinations are endless. Especially the you take into account that you can LAYER the lip colors!

And that folks is why this stuff is so amazing. I couldn't have just one color and gloss haha. I ended up getting Fleur de Lisa lip color and the Matte gloss as well. So now I have at least 8 different ways I can wear my LipSense, it really is awesome. And then as a birthday gift, my bestie gave my the Orchid gloss, and I absolutely love it too!!

LipSense Gloss

Dehydrated and damaged lips are no match for the moisturizing ability of Shea Butter, a natural ingredient used as the base for the many textures of LipSense Glosses. Choose from glossy, pearl, matte or shimmering finishes. Moisturizing glosses improve the longevity of LipSense Liquid Lip Color. *This statement came directly from the SenGence Website.

The lip glosses can be worn alone and of course on top of the color. I love to just wear it alone when I am in a hurry and need some hydration.

I have several colors and glosses on my wish list and I can't wait to grow my collection. Next on my list is First Love and Opal Gloss. There are over 10+ glosses to choose from.

  • Your lips WILL go through a peeling/exfoilating process. For me it lasted about a week. This is just your lips exfoliating and riding themselves of waxy build up from other products you have used.
  • There is a product called Ooops! Remover that you can buy as well. to clean up any mistakes or to remove your color.
  • You can also remove the color with make-up remover wipes.
  • Bonus: As you are scrubbing off your color with a wipe, you are also exfoliating your lips ;)
  • There is a slight tingly feeling when you first start using LipSense. That is from the cosmetic grade denatured alcohol that is in the color.
  • The denatured alcohol also keeps bacteria from growing inside the tubes.
  • Reapply the gloss throughout the day to keep your lip color on as long as possible, I can't say this enough. Especially before and after eating.
  • One you start wearing LipSense DON'T go back and forth between regular lipsticks and lip balms, your lips will start the exfoliating process all over again.
  • One tube of lip color will last approximately 5-6 months when worn every day.

I honestly get 12 hours of wear from these products. I apply the color in the morning and the gloss throughout the day and I am good to go. I kept applying gloss every 3-4 hours or as needed, especially right before and after eating. That ensured that I got the longest wear possible.

I watched a few how to videos on You Tube, so I had a pretty good idea of how to apply the product. I highly suggest doing that it will make things much easier.

The lip color itself is pretty thin and sticky. It is formulated to be sticky and that is how it adheres to your lips. I does have a chemical-like smell, it's not bad, but it is noticeable. It goes on smooth and evenly, and dries quickly in-between coats.

Thin coats, swiping in one direction, and not going back over it again until it's time for the next layer is important. Sometimes you can accidentally lift the color off if you swipe over it again before it's dry.

There is a doe-foot applicator and that makes it easy to line your lips as well.
The gloss is amazing! It's pure moisture on your lips. It doesn't have the same chemical scent as the lip color, but it doesn't have a yummy, vanilla/sweet scent either.

I noticed that in the evenings, after wearing my lip color all day, and after a few hours of not applying my lip gloss, the color starts to break down and kind of "rolls off" in little chunks. It gets a little bit sticky and you can feel it breaking down.

Lip color is $25. Gloss is $20. Ooops! Remover is $10. You can get a starter kit including lip color of your choice, Glossy gloss and Ooops! Remover for $55, or you canpurchase them separately.

Before & After Pictures

Here's my before, my natural lips.
8:30am, after I applied Bombshell lip color. Bombshell is a shimmer color and has little specks of sparkle in it.
After I applied Glossy gloss. Glossy gloss s the most hydrating and has a super shiny finish.
1:30pm, 5 hours later, after eating breakfast and lunch. It still looks great without any wear so far.
6:30pm, after eating dinner, 10 hours after application. There is some fading at my waterline, but it's not too bad.
8:30pm, 12 hours after application, the end of the day right before I showered. More wore off at my waterline, but I hadn't put any gloss on since before I ate dinner at 6:30pm.
All in all, I am in love with these products! They actually do all that they claim to do, and that doesn't happen very often. And since using LipSense exclusively, my lips have never been softer and more plump. They do not crack and peel at all. Crazy to think that all that time I spent slathering on chapstick it was actually doing more harm than good!
I know I don't know everything there is to know about these product. So feel free to contact a distributor or just google to your hearts content. Here is a link to the SenGence website as well. You can see application techniques, ingredients, and read all about it there.

And here is a link to another blogger, with an amazing review, she is super thorough and detailed. Here's a link to Stacia's page if you are interested in seeing more from her.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you have a sweet and beautiful day!
