I agree with what Jen says in the video about what a master bedroom should be. It should be a restful calm place for sleep and relaxation. Don't let it become a dumping ground for clutter. Don't let it become the room where you throw everything and slam the door when you get company. It's so nice to go to bed and wake up in a clean and peaceful room. If you wake up in a cluttered, chaotic mess, your mood could definitely be affected.
You can check out this weeks video from Jen, from HowJenDoesIt, here. For the next several weeks there will be a new challenge and video from Jen for different areas of the home. This seems extremely do-able. We can do it!!
- Monday ~ Declutter surface areas. Pick up and put away anything that doesn't belong in your bedroom. Throw away any trash that might have accumulated on the dressers or nightstands. Fold up or hang any clothes that are clean and need put away. Put dirty laundry in the hamper. Clean off those catch-all hot spots, where things tend to pile up.
- Tuesday ~Declutter Nightstands. Go through and get rid of anything that you don't use anymore and make room for the things you use everyday such as books, chapstick, lotion, tv remotes, etc.
- Wednesday ~ Dust light fixtures, ceiling fans, ceilings, corners, and anywhere else cobwebs might be hiding. Also wipe down any doors and doorknobs in the room.
- Thursday ~ Vacuum under and behind furniture. Lots of dirt and dust like to hide out there, and if you haven't done this for awhile you're in for a surprise! Bedroom furniture can be big and heavy so be careful when trying to move it or be like me and have your hubby do it for you :) Also wipe down the baseboards and corners in your room.
- Friday ~ Wash the bedding (comforters, blankets), curtains, and windows. Also vacuum or lint roll your lampshades and upholstered headboard.
I love you room !
