Holy moly, we are half way done with our challenge! Hopefully you are seeing an improvement, cleaning up, and making some space in your home.
This week we are working on crafts. Well don't actually get distracted and start to "work on crafts," instead declutter, clean the areas, and sort through all of your crating supplies!
Week 7 Challenge: Crafts
Things in this category will vary from person to person. Someone may be into painting, wood working, or sewing, someone else may enjoy scrapbooking, jewelry making, knitting or crocheting. Whatever it may be dig out all of your crafty items and put them in one place.
Discard anything that is old, empty, or dried up like paints, glue, ink pads, etc. Donate/Sell anything that still has life and someone else could enjoy when you no longer do. I know from experience craft items are great sellers at yard sales. Keep all of the items that you use and love. Clean them up, organize them, and put things aways nicely so when it is time to do a project, everything is easy to find.
I love to craft so it feels like I have a little bit of everything. Cricut and vinyl. Scrapbook paper and embellishments. Paints and ribbon. The list goes on and on. I picked up these little boxes at thrift stores years ago and they are great for holding most of my craft supplies.
These 3 drawer plastic drawers hold all of my fabric for sewing. I have had them for years, and I think I got them at Walmart.
*Extra Credit this week is to actually finish a project you have been working on. It's time for a little break and some fun, you're halfway done and it's time to reward yourself. Make that wreath for your front door. Paint that piece of furniture. Finish that blanket that you started making. Whatever it is, take a little time and finish it!
Thank you again for stopping by! I hope you have a sweet and happy day!

2018 Cleaning & Organizing Challenge Week 7 ~ Crafts
Monday, February 12, 2018
Good morning everyone and happy Monday! Let's start this week of right with a little cleaning and organizing!
This week we are going to be working on books. Novels, church books, children's books, school books, music books, etc. *Excluding notebooks*
Week 6 Challenge: Books
Sort through all of your books this week, including the kids books. Discard any that are destroyed, ripped and damaged beyond repair. Donate/Sell any that are no longer read or that you have duplicates of. Of course, keep your favorites and organize them nicely on your shelves.
Straighten, dust, and organize the bookshelves if you have one. We don't have many books at all so all of them fit on a little shelf in our hall closet.
When you do your children's books, have them be involved too. Just like the toys, have them choose some to donate so others kids can enjoy them when they no longer do.
Another fun thing that you can do is host a book swap with some of your friends and their kids. It's such a great way to change things up and get some new reading material! Invite your friends gather up the books that they've read and are ready to pass on, and then have them bring them over and have a book swap party. Make some snacks and enjoy getting together and having something new to read. It saves you money and it's a great excuse to get together with your friends and if you want have a play day with your kids. *You may not believe it from the lack of books that I have but I used to be a huge reader and loved doing book swaps about 10 years ago! Photography is my passion and it takes up my time now <3 *Also please don't judge me by my reading material lol! What can I say...
Thank you for stopping by and following along! Hopefully you're making some great progress cleaning, delcluttering, and organizing you home. Have a sweet and wonderful day!

This beautiful mom-to-be is 38+ weeks pregnant and glowing. I always enjoy getting to photograph Heidi <3 She is so gorgeous and her makeup is always perfect.
We had a nice evening tonight, chatting, laughing, and documenting some sweet moments for her and her family. It seriously just seems like yesterday that I was taking her and Tad's baby announcement pictures, and now she's ready to pop.
Heidi brought along this pretty dark plum dress so I decided to change things up and do a dark and moody edit. I gotta say, I'm kinda loving it <3 It was a fun change from my usual clean editing style.

Photography Sneak Peek ~ Elijah 18 Months & Marshall 9 Months
What's better than one adorable boy? That would be TWO adorable boys!! Elijah and Marshall are cute cousins and such little hams. They were cracking me up with all their cheesy smiles, arm flapping, and squeals.
I've been taking Lij's pictures since he was born and I just love that little boy to pieces! He's the spitting image of his dad and has the best little personality. Super sweet, super silly, and super spunky. He's all boy <3
And lil' Marshall man is soooooo stinking cute! He has the best smiles and is just such a fun little guy! I took his 6 month pictures and he was just perfect for me, and now 3 months later he is still loving the camera and cheese-ing it up.

How are you doing with the challenge so far? Hopefully you are making some room, and sprucing up your house! If not, this weeks challenge is sure to do that.
This week I'd like you to go through the toys and games. Yikes, I know, the holidays are over and your house and kids' rooms are probably bursting at the seams. Dig out those toy boxes, and wipe them down. Clean out the closets, and under the beds and couches. Toys seem to migrate from bedrooms and end up everywhere!
Week 5 Challenge: Toys
As you know, I don't have children, but I still have a few toys for those who come to visit me.
I have watched tons of cleaning/organizational videos of people who do. One of my favorite ways to see kids rooms get clean and organized is when the kids help and are involved.
Now for the most part you will be doing the "heavy lifting", but involve them somehow. Maybe explain to them the importance of giving to those less fortunate, and the lesson of being charitable. Sharing is something that is so important, and can be taught at a pretty young age. There are so many kids out there who don't have much and they would love and appreciate something that maybe your child doesn't play with anymore.
Give them a box or a bag and have them fill it up with those toys. You might be surprised at what your kids are willing to part with. Children are naturally kind, sweet, giving spirits <3
Obviously you have the finally say on what goes out the door, but it's such a great way to get your kids involved.
Another thing that I've seen is to have your children sort through their toys and sell the things they don't play with anymore. Then with the money they have earned they can go out and buy something that they've had their eye on and have really wanted. It's another valuable lesson on teaching kids about money, the value of it, having to work for it, and maybe giving up something now for something better later on.
Discard anything that is broken, missing pieces, from a happy meal haha, or is not in good enough condition to be donated. Donate/Sell anything that your kids don't play with, you're tired of stepping on, or duplicates. Libraries and preschools are always happy to receive gently used toys and books. Keep anything that is loved, used, and played with.
Wash all of the toys. You should do that fairly often anyways, especial baby toys that are constantly being handled and put in mouths, but if you're not, now a great time to start. Spot clean those that cannot be put in the washing machine/dishwasher, or submerged into water. *Tip: You can use lingerie bag for small items like legos to keep them all together while in the washer! I use vinegar water with a drop of bleach when washing my toys.
I know I've shown you these baskets from Target before, but they are my favorite way to organize things. Toys included!
Organize all of your games and puzzles. Make sure all of the pieces are there. Throw away paper and trash, seriously where does all of that come from?! Discard. Donate/Sell. Keep you most used and favorites.
*Bonus cleaning for this week. Deep clean the kids rooms. Now that their clothes, shoes, toys, games and puzzles have been organized, it's time to deep clean. Wash all of the bedding, curtains, and rugs. Vacuum under the beds and in the closets. Wipe down the furniture, walls, light fixtures, switch plates, baseboards, trim, knobs and doors.
